when a youthworker doubts their faith November 29, 2007

So you employ a youthworker in a faith based context and they start to question their faith……what is your response when they speak to you? Do you:
1) Tell them not to worry as we all doubt faith sometimes?
2) Tell them not to worry and tell them you will pray for them?
3) Tell them not to worry and pray with them there and then?
4) Tell them not to worry and secretly call a meeting of the senior leadership team to discuss?
5) Tell them not to worry and call a meeting with them and the leadership team?
6) Tell them not to worry and do nothing else?
7) Tell them not to worry and spend time with them in the days and months ahead?
Sack them on the spot?
9) Tell them it is serious and they need to take a leave of absence to work out their life?
10) Tell them it is serious and then follow any of the steps quoted in 1-6 above?
11) am getting bored of the possibiities now….but are there any more suggestions?

my facebook profile has been removed today……you cannot delete it permanently as it is very easy to re-instate, but I found that too many sites are controlling my net usage. A year back I deleted my blog…..which is now a regret and I have started a much less incisive blog to replace it…..but facebook proved to be something that had nice ideas but never quite worked for me. Maybe I will do some more pertinent blogs as a result, maybe not…..but it is one less application to worry about.

this year….ok the last few weeks have seen the greatest sporting franchise on earth regain some momentum and win 7 games in a row. yes, the Celtics are back with a swagger and have amassed their best start in quarter of a century. OK, it is only 7-0 in terms of games, but when we struggled so badly last year (total 24wins) you can see why there is hope. There is a winning feeling returning to Beantown and although much can happen between now and April, the tide has turned……and just maybe, the Celtics are looking at playing through June……if they get that far, who knows? Maybe the elusive banner that the current generation has been craving. We just trust that the team stay healthy through the season and come playoff time we do not throw away loose games…..somehow that seems far away and it is time to enjoy the ride….the Celtics are back, eat dirt in L.A. Woo Hoo!
