on my lunchtime walk yesterday I saw a crowd of people on a bridge behind the train station. They were watching demolition of some buildings that will make way for a new improved station entry point. It was a great viewing site and helps you appreciate that not everything is in a “state of hold” with the credit crunch!

was out with the camera at lunchtime and saw a large gathering near City Hall. Decided to take a look and discovered that it was a photoshoot to help announce the forthcoming TV series, Minder. Shane Richie was the main guy and so I snuck into the press pack and took a few of my own shots. It was great fun and 15 minutes later I had some good snaps and compared notes with a few of the other togs.
Not sure that I could ever live this type of life but for 15 minutes or so it was good to feel like a real professional photographer!

That said, this last week has felt like a huge merry go round of other peoples choosing with deadlines and meetings and the filling of time. The timetabling of this weekend is all my own……the diary is empty! There are plenty of things knocking at the door, need finishing and are urgent/important……..but the timetable this weekend is empty…..and it will stay that way.

This was the best line of a sermon I heard yesterday:
“Church can be like a helicopter. We do not get too close for fear of being sucked up into the rotas”.
