Loved hearing from the National Youth Workers Convention in the US, that Youth Specialties had taken a few organisational risks with Open Space. (Mark Riddle has a write up here.) Those that are normally ‘spoken to’ where engaged and given a voice. This was a really exciting development as it means that we may see more of this style of working. Well played Adam on taking the step.
Mark Riddle’s post has given me something important, especially when he says; “NEEDING EXPERTS is a convenient excuse not to take the responsibility that is yours.“
Some thinking to be done.

sometimes you have to break the mould and make unpopular decisions. It is not comfortable and not always wanted but the results may be necessary.
Yesterday I revisited a place where such decisions had been made. It was a fabulous time filled with recognition that the right calls, however painful, had been made.
